I Hate Artists - The Future of Digital Art

The new look for I Hate Artists has officially been launched! Although this website is still in a "beta" phase, you can find this new look on every page except the main site.

This past week, this website reached the top 300,000 on alexa.com.

Since January 12, 2007, this website has gone from 4,687,675 to 298,517. While doing this, keep in mind that this entire time, http://www.ihateartists.com is a 1 page poem I wrote. You have to go index2.php to get the actual site.

Most of the traffic comes from search engines, however. People searching for terms that this site ranks for.

So to those of you who visit this site; thank you. And remember; you haven't seen anything yet.

In other short news; I turned 22 this past week, so the additions to this site have been small lately. However a new design and an entirely new look is coming very soon.

After that, the image gallery will need to be re-worked, then the store and message board added; then this site should be ready for a full launch.

Take a stand against monotony. I Hate Artists is a statement. Quiet, yet loud, but does not scream it's name from the mountain tops, but at the same time shoves a gun in your face and commands you to listen.

A razor of fire across the eyes of the timid, my message is clear; my art is here. My art is going to be viewed in a different light, and you are invited to view it here.

I Hate Artists is also completely free. The only thing I plan to charge for is my webstore, which will never be overpriced. Digital artists sometimes think they are more than they are; charging thousands of dollars for a single piece of art. Who the fuck do they think they are? Salvadore Dali? This is 2007, asshole. There are very few recognized artists these days because virtually any computer can run Photoshop and even cell phones have cameras on them.

EVERYONE thinks they are an artist these days. Even websites such as Deviant Art have been over-run with mindless atomotons taking a picture of themselves wearing a wig with their cell phone camera and thinking it is worthy of public viewing.

So what is art? Who am I to judge? I'm not sure, and I'm no-one. I however know what isn't art; and I am making my stand with this website.

Am I good artist? I don't think I am. That's why out of 10 years of drawing, working on computers, etc. I have only thought one piece of art was good enough to sell. I am always improving, though. I also guess I have to be considered atleast somewhat good since my art is seen worldwide.

I've made the website a lot more database driven as I learn more about PHP.

Now this page is controlled by a MySQL database, as well as the entire glossary.

This makes the website so much easier to manage and work on, that it motives me to work on it more.

I am still hammering out a few tweaks at making the image gallery database driven; but it is almost there. Just a few function errors to finalize, but the system and database structure are in place.
